Overview of the principal IBM Informix Database products:

Product	Description
IBM INFORMIX Dynamic Server EE	IBM Informix Dynamic Server Enterprise Edition (IDS EE) provides very good online transaction processing OLTP performance, reliability, and trouble free administration to businesses of bigger sizes. Compared with the earlier released IDS 10 version IDS 11 offers significant improvements in availability, manageability, security and performance over previous versions. The IDS full size version is available in 32 and 64 bit version for Linux, UNIX and Windows platforms. There are no limits in proc. Maintenance is mandatory.
IBM INFORMIX Dynamic Server WE	IBM Informix Dynamic Server Workgroup Edition (IDS WE) is a low-maintenance OLTP data server for workgroup computing. It provides high availability, high-performance technology, application development support and system management support for small and medium sized companies. Compared with IDS EE there are some differences/restrictions in license policy and features. IDS WE is available for servers up to 4 proc. in 32 and 64 bit version for Linux, UNIX and Windows platforms. Actually you can obtain IDS WE as version 10 and 11. Maintenance is mandatory.
IBM INFORMIX EXPRESS	Informix Express (IDS Express) provides the power, function and reliability needed for on demand business with simplicity in packaging, installation and deployment at a minimal investment cost. If your business is a smaller one it is the right choice for you. IDS Express is available in 32 bit version only and can be obtained for Linux and Windows platforms only. There are restrictions in the maximum number of processors of the machine where IDS Express is going to be installed (max. 2 proc.). Maintenance is mandatory.
IBM INFORMIX MAINTENANCE	IBM Informix maintenance is mandatory and includes updates (free), upgrades (reduced rates), trade ups (rates depending from contract) and 8 x 5 hotline support. In case of time critical applications or working on weekends and bank holidays we recommend to choose 24 x 7 hotline support which is available for you around the clock.
